Overview

Brandon brings to his litigation practice in-depth experience strategically advising clients at all stages of dispute resolution. He prosecutes and defends complex, commercial, contract, business tort, class action, Administrative Procedure Act (APA), and white collar disputes in court, courts of appeal, arbitration, alternative dispute resolution, and before regulatory agencies such as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and United States Surface Transportation Board.

In his wide-ranging practice, Brandon represents individuals, businesses, Fortune 500 and international companies and governments. He leverages his insider's view of how judges make decisions and respond to different methods of advocacy to build effective cases for his clients, based on his practice experience and prior experience as a law clerk and judicial intern.

Experience

Brandon supports clients in all phases of litigation, including significant motion practice before state and federal courts. He has extensive experience managing protracted litigation in various industries including banking and financial services, telecommunications, transportation, hospitality, renewable energy, real estate and the non-profit sector.

Keenly aware of both the opportunities and burdens of discovery-practice, Brandon develops and implements cost- and time-efficient strategies for maximizing fact and expert discovery results in complex commercial actions with tens of hundreds of thousands of documents and dozens of depositions.

Brandon further assists clients in regulatory proceedings, including resolving disputes and navigating licensing and other regulatory requirements, such as the FCC or other local, state and federal agencies and regulators.

Prior to joining the firm, Brandon served as a law clerk and judicial extern for the Honorable James Teilborg of the U. S. District Court for the District of Arizona; as a full-time intern for the Office of the Solicitor General, U.S. Department of Justice, in Washington, DC; and as a judicial extern for the Honorable John Gemmill of the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One.

Well-prepared for pro bono service and courtroom arguments alike, Brandon earned the firm’s 2019 Pro Bono Service Award for donating substantial time and effort to cases involving everyday legal services for those in need. In law school, Brandon earned the highest pro bono distinction at Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law for donating 320 hours of pro bono service.

An effective oral advocate, Brandon also won individual and team honors in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria; he continues to serve as an assistant coach for the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law team, and was honored as the 2016 Moot Court Coach of the Year. Brandon travels annually to the Vis Moot as an invited arbitrator for the seven-day competition.
